Welcome to our first summer blogging book study!

If you have made it this far, you are ready to begin our summer book study on Thomas Friedman's book "That Used to be Us."  Here is what we will do:
  • You will post at least 6 times over the course of the summer, for us, that will be from June 25 until August 24, just before we return to school. We have about 9 weeks.
  • You are required to comment 3 times to posts.
That's it.  Remember, these are the minimum guidelines--you can always post, or comment, as many times as you would like.

Have you ever used a blog in your classroom?  If yes, is there anything you would  do differently?

Have you ever considered using a blog in your classroom?  If not, would you consider trying?

  1. I have never used a blog but when I was CFF coach, we had threaded discussions online.

  2. I used Edmodo (which I guess is sort of a blog) in my AP Stat classroom this year. Every student was assigned at least once to be student of the day, then the SOD had to post the activities we did in class that day. Then I could ask questions, or post test hints, etc. It worked well, but the kids did not generate the discussions online that I was hoping for.

  3. I tried to use the schoolwires page several years back. I set up class pages for students to post questions on. I thought it would be good for test review online. I only had three posts after a month. They seemed disinterested.
